At STAIR Lab, we develop AI-powered plant experience applications. We have released introduction videos for these apps on YouTube.
The newly published videos introduce the following three applications:
hananona
An app that identifies flowers in real time using AI.
By taking a photo of a flower with a smartphone camera, the app displays the flower’s name, making it easy to learn about plants encountered during walks or visits to botanical gardens.
barakore
A rose collection app designed for use in botanical gardens.
Set in Jindai Botanical Gardens and Kyu-Furukawa Gardens, the app invites users to walk through the gardens and discover a wide variety of rose cultivars by seeing, capturing, and recording flowers with their smartphones.
Makino 100 Collection
A collection app that explores botanical gardens from the perspective of botanist Tomitaro Makino.
Created to commemorate the 160th anniversary of Dr. Makino’s birth under the supervision of Makino Botanical Garden, the app allows users to collect plants associated with Dr. Makino and learn about plant diversity through hands-on exploration.
These videos introduce how each app is used and the flow of the user experience, showing how AI technology can create new ways of engaging with nature and plants.
STAIR Lab will continue to present research, exhibitions, and applications related to AI and software technologies through various channels.
